White of Framingham for the full rehabilitation of Neponset River Bridge. During Phase II of the project, the concrete deck, expansion joints, sidewalks and lighting system will be replaced. Site preparation and set-up is ongoing and full construction is expected to begin by the end of the month.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation, MassDOT, is the unified transportation organization serving the residents and visitors of Massachusetts with a focus on public safety, customer service and efficiency. MassDOT is governed by a five member board, managed by a Secretary/CEO, and includes four divisions: Highway, Rail & Transit, Registry of Motor Vehicles, and Aeronautics. MassDOT was created on November 1, 2009, the result of a historic transportation reform law signed into law by Governor Deval Patrick in June 2009.

The weather is turning and the fair weather riding season is upon us. And it’s time for a meeting.
Do you have ideas on what DotBike should be working on this coming year? How would you like to be involved in advocacy, outreach, events, and organizing?
For the past two years DotBike has been working to make cycling more fun, convenient and safer for all in Dorchester. We’ve held community rides and participated in community events. You’ve hopefully noticed more city bike racks around the neighborhood. And this year we expect to see concrete results of our ongoing advocacy including a bike parking cage at a Dorchester T station, bike lanes on several Dorchester streets and bike riding officially allowed in Franklin Park.
But there is still lots more to do. We need to hear from you.

In celebration of Earth Week and Boston Shines we’re going for a ride around the neighborhood to check out some of Dorchester’s many parks and green spaces.
The ride starts from the giraffe entrance of the Franklin Park Zoo at 12:30 p.m. and after a riding tour of Franklin Park we’ll head out of the park on an approximately 12 mile loop to hit various other green spaces.
Check out the map for planned stops and points of interest.
